About Katie Gergel

Hi! I’m katie.

I’m a lifelong writer who grew up in West Chester, Pennsylvania. As a kid, I’d fill blank bound books with stories and illustrations—my best works were “Cats Know How to Build Sandcastles” and “The Family that Loved Pickles.”

I carried my love for writing with me through college, but it wasn’t until I graduated from Penn State in 2020 that I really tried my hand at finishing a full-length novel. Writing the words “The End” on my first book (a YA dystopian!) gave me a kind of euphoria I knew I’d spend the rest of my life chasing.

Fast forward several years and books later, and now my debut adult romcom novel WORTH PLAYING FOR is coming out on 4/27/27 with Dell Romance, an imprint of Penguin Random House.

When I’m not writing, you can find me watching reality TV shows, hunting down the best spicy margaritas, and tending to my two cats’ every need and desire with my fiancé Corey at our home in Hoboken, NJ. I also work full-time as an Associate Director of Marketing for People, Inc. in NYC.
